CTV Awards 2012 voting concludes Featured

Voting has just closed in this year’s Cult TV Awards 2012, in what is now our 19th year of presenting our appreciation of the best in fictional television to the talent behind the shows. As an incentive to cast your votes, we had three fantastic sets of prizes courtesy of Fabulous Films, including a trio of multi-autographed photos (including the mark of Glen A Larson!) for the three winners, and a top prize of the entire series DVD box set of The Bionic Woman!

Vote and you could win big in the Cult TV Awards 2012

The Awards voting followed the online nominations stage, where we have compiled the top five entrants, as voted for in each category from what was suggested by those who let us know their views. And now, with the voting concluded we'll now count up YOUR views as to who should be this year’s winners! Watch this space for the full details of the winners, coming soon!

For those of you new to this, there were NO premium rate phone lines to call, or even stamps to buy to put your votes on record! With the process being online, and with each form being individually verified to ensure that block votes are discounted (including ones from the same IP address), this is the best system going to ensure that we genuinely take the pulse of the UK’s Cult TV appreciators.

As a ‘Thank You’ for taking part, all those who voted this year were entered into a prize draw (we regret this was only open to UK postal addresses). And so, big gasp, now on to who won the voting prizes:

We hope you appreciate that this is a small token of our appreciation for the few minutes it took to cast your votes. The Voting Form had a total of 28 categories. 13 of the Awards are part of our HALL OF FAME – an ever-expanding pantheon of the most deserving from the last 65 years of television.  You simply choose from the drop-down lists in each of the categories.

You can view the entrants in the CULT TV HALL OF FAME – ADVERT category via clicking on the following links:

There are also three HALL OF SHAME categories – these are ones that are just a bit of fun, as we show that sometimes even our favourites shows have an ‘off day’ with unintentionally hilarious results!

As there was not enough space on the voting form to list the HALL OF SHAME – WORST CONTINUITY CLANGER entries in their entirety, here’s a full run-down:

HALL OF SHAME – WORST CONTUINUITY CLANGER

  • Lily and Marshall’s toothbrush habits (How I Met Your Mother, “Zip, Zip, Zip” #1.14 and “The Perfect Week” #5.14). Lily and Marshall have their own toothbrushes in Season 1 but by Season 5 they say they have both used the same toothbrush ever since they’ve been together.
  • Who killed Bates, and why? (Man in a Suitcase “No Friend Of Mine”). One minute Bates was at McGill's trying to kill him with a machete. McGill gave him a beating and he fled - then he was found murdered.
  • Fireflash is on its maiden flight but the radiation shielding already due for servicing Thunderbirds - “Trapped in the Sky”)
  • Captain Kirk's ever-changing uniform (Star Trek - “Charlie X”)
  • The changing length of Starbuck’s hair (Battlestar Galactica - “The Gun on Ice Planet Zero”)
